Red Wings expects to start flying to Egypt’s Borg El Arab next year

Red Wings plans to launch flights to Borg El Arab in Egypt in 2027, the air carrier's press service told TASS.

"The airline has submitted applications to Rosaviatsiya (Russian Federal Air Transport Agency - TASS) to organize flights to Borg El Arab from Moscow and Yekaterinburg," the airline said. "We expect to begin flights to Borg El Arab as early as 2027," it noted.

The airline noted that plans for flights to Egypt’s El Alamein also remain in place. Flights to both airports are planned to be operated on Tu-204/214 aircraft. "We are currently discussing the possibilities of organizing charter programs to both airports with travel agencies and tour operators," Red Wings added.

According to the airline, both airports are located on the Mediterranean coast. Borg El Arab is near Alexandria, while El Alamein is in one of the most popular resort areas.

Earlier reports said that the Russian air regulator is opening air traffic to Borg El Arab and El Alamein airports. IrAero and Nordstar airlines also submitted applications for flights from the Russian capital to El Alamein.
