Aeroflot updates "Vegetarian" and "Russian" special meals onboard

 Aeroflot has updated its "Vegetarian" (code VGML) and "Russian" (code RVML) special meals onboard. The new meal options can be preordered free of charge no later than 20 hours before departure from Moscow and no later than 24 hours before departure to Moscow. In Business Class, special meals can be ordered on any flight, while in Comfort and Economy Classes they are available on flights over 3 hours in duration.*

"Vegetarian" meals do not contain products of animal origin, including milk and eggs.

In Business Class, passengers will be offered new cold appetizers and salads, including fresh vegetables with fried tofu and lactose-free sour cream, beet patties with grilled zucchini, and pepper lecho with honey. For the main course, depending on the departure time, passengers can choose buckwheat cutlets with pepper lecho and green pea purée, vegetable ratatouille with orzo pasta and tomato sauce, or oatmeal cooked in water with pear and cinnamon. For dessert, the Business Class menu now features new light options: a vegan dessert with salted caramel and red currants, as well as tapioca desserts with raspberry or mango purée.

In Comfort and Economy Classes, passengers will also be offered new vegetarian options:

 

The "Russian" meal includes dishes from traditional Russian cuisine.

In Business Class, depending on the route, passengers can enjoy new salads, cold appetizers, desserts, and pastries, including:

 

For the main course, Business Class passengers who choose the "Russian" special meal will be offered rabbit braised in a creamy sauce with potato casserole and horseradish, beef Stroganoff with buckwheat, or oatmeal porridge with milk and baked apple.

In Comfort and Economy Classes, passengers will also be offered new delicacies of Russian cuisine, including chicken breast roulade with dried apricots and prunes, rolls with Far Eastern chum salmon, and a vitamin salad with cranberries and cooked-smoked turkey. For dessert, passengers will be able to try fruit pie or the "Apple Strip" pastry.

For the main course in Economy Class, passengers who order the "Russian" special meal will be offered a turkey cutlet with spelt, mushrooms, and tomato sauce, or buckwheat porridge with mushrooms.

Earlier, Aeroflot announced that it had updated its lenten menu onboard.
