The second prototype of the Superjet 100 aircraft with domestic PD-8 engines has begun flights for certification, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec corporation) reported on its Telegram channel.
The flights include climb-descent at constant speed and constant thrust and horizontal platforms at constant speed and constant thrust to assess the takeoff and landing characteristics of the aircraft and the thrust characteristics of the engines. In addition, the gas-dynamic stability of the power plants is assessed in various altitude and speed conditions.
