Pilots under medical supervision after crash of Tu-22M3 plane in eastern Russia

The pilots of the Tu-22M3 plane that crashed in Russia’s Irkutsk Region are now under medical supervision, Governor Igor Kobzev told TASS.

"The surviving pilots are under the care of doctors," he said.

"The search and rescue team that arrived at the site is evacuating the crew to its base. Emergency Situations Ministry services are also working at the site," the governor wrote on Telegram.

The crew of four pilots ejected, but one of them died. The crash was tentatively caused by a technical malfunction. The debris didn’t cause a fire or damage on the ground.
