Russian Aviaton » Thursday April 17, 2025 15:41 MSK

The operator of Gazprom Neft's bitumen business, Gazpromneft-Bitumen Materials, and the operator of Pulkovo Airport, Northern Capital Gateway, have signed a cooperation agreement to implement modern technologies for the construction of airfield pavements. As part of the partnership with Pulkovo Airport, the company will increase supplies of domestic bitumen materials for servicing runways, taxiways, aprons, and aircraft parking areas. The document was signed by Stanislav Ovchinnikov, CEO of Gazpromneft-Bitumen Materials, and Andrey Drobovich, First Deputy CEO of Northern Capital Gateway.

Gazprom Neft supplies a wide range of high-tech products to Russian airports to increase the service life of road pavements. The reliability of airfield infrastructure in different climatic zones - from the northern regions to the south of the country - is ensured by polymer-bitumen binders, sealing joint tapes, protective and restorative compounds, mastics, impregnations for concrete surfaces. To ensure the greatest efficiency of product application, the Gazprom Neft Bitumen Materials Research Center develops individual bitumen material formulations for each airport, taking into account the frequency and regularity of flights in air harbors.

Andrey Drobovich, Deputy General Director, Chief Operating Officer of Northern Capital Gateway (Pulkovo Airport operator):
“Pulkovo is one of the largest airports in Russia, which is in the stage of active development. In 2024, it served 20.9 million passengers. Safety is the airport's top priority. Therefore, when choosing technologies for airfield infrastructure, we always pay attention to compliance with high quality standards. I hope that the partnership with the Gazprom Neft bitumen operator will allow us to step up our work in this area.”

Stanislav Ovchinnikov, CEO of Gazpromneft-Bitumen Materials:
"There are more than 200 operating airports in Russia, and almost all of them successfully use our company's technologies. Thanks to the partnership agreement, Pulkovo will receive a reliable supplier of modern products, and we, in turn, will receive a new effective platform for the implementation and testing of innovative solutions. This will allow us to further develop the research and development direction, constantly improving the quality of products."
