Olga Kaya, head of projects at the Northern Capital Gateway company, spoke at the VSESEZON tourism and hospitality investment forum, where she presented the airport’s initiatives for the development of inbound tourism.

As part of the practical session “Growth Points in Tourism Development,” the speaker spoke about what approach to developing tourism infrastructure will increase the city’s attractiveness for foreign travelers.

Pulkovo actively works with the markets of the Middle East and China; in 2024, more than 40 face-to-face and online events were organized for representatives of tour operators, journalists and bloggers from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman. The airport was one of the first to engage in "territory marketing" - experience allows collecting feedback from representatives of foreign markets in order to implement improvements in the infrastructure of St. Petersburg together with the tourism industry and airlines and form the right tourism product adapted for specific target audiences. The support of the city administration plays an important role in this.
