Aeroflot, together with Sheremetyevo Airport, has launched a self-check-in service for passengers traveling with luggage. Initially, the service will be available on Aeroflot and Rossiya Airlines* domestic flights. At these counters, passengers can not only check in for their flight but also print their boarding pass and drop off their luggage themselves.

The new service allows Aeroflot passengers to check in their luggage without visiting the drop-off zone or traditional check-in desks. Self-check-in luggage counters are located in the Terminal B departure zone (check-in counters 314-316). To check in, passengers need to enter their booking details or e-ticket information on a touchscreen, choose their seat, and weigh their luggage. After confirming the luggage size and weight, passengers can print their boarding pass and luggage tag, which must be attached to the luggage according to the provided instructions. The suitcase will then automatically be sent via the belt to the airport's baggage sorting system, and passengers can proceed to the «sterile» area for boarding.

These counters are equipped with a system that ensures luggage complies with the size and weight regulations. If a suitcase exceeds the allowed limits, passengers will need to visit the check-in desk to pay the excess fee.

In the future, Aeroflot and Sheremetyevo Airport plan to expand the new service to include international flights as well.
