Pulkovo International Airport held a familiarization tour for bloggers from India to introduce them to the cultural capital of Russia. The trip was organized jointly with the travel service Tutu as part of the airport's program to develop inbound tourism to St. Petersburg. From the Northern capital, the influencers went to Gorno-Altaysk.
Pulkovo is actively working to expand international air traffic, building strategic partnerships with foreign air carriers and the tourism business. Particular attention is paid to the development of routes from the Middle East, North Africa, Southeast Asia, China and India, which contributes to an increase in the tourist flow to St. Petersburg.
"Pulkovo is the first airport to engage in "territory marketing". We see potential in promoting inbound tourism through social media. Cooperation with foreign influencers is an effective tool: this has been proven by 6 successful press tours. We continue to develop this area, planning a series of new events so that more foreign tourists want to visit our city. Partnership between airports, tourism businesses and government bodies plays an important role in forming the city's brand and will contribute to the development of inbound tourism ," said Olga Kaya, Project Manager of Northern Capital Gateway (the operator of Pulkovo Airport).
The arrival of Indian bloggers in Russia is timed to coincide with MediaVenture, the development of the well-known project of professional press tours “Media Intelligence” by Tutu with the participation of journalists and bloggers.
"We came to our first international project MediaVenture, joint with Pulkovo, after four years of experience interacting with famous Russian bloggers, journalists and photographers within the framework of "Media Intelligence". The project not only inspires travel around the country, opening up little-known locations and unusual activities, but also provides an objective analysis of the tourism potential of the regions, formulates recommendations that help improve the quality of tourism services and create new offers," said Natalia Anisimova, head of the partnership communications department and creator of the "Media Intelligence" project.
According to the Committee for Tourism Development of St. Petersburg, in 2024 India entered the top five countries in terms of the number of visits to the Northern capital. Guests are attracted by history, architecture, level of service, cultural and educational, event, business and wedding tourism.
Working with influencers allows travelers from foreign countries to get acquainted with the sights, atmosphere and hospitality of St. Petersburg and contributes to the formation of a positive image of the city and attracting new travelers.
