Russian Aviaton » Thursday March 13, 2025 18:44 MSK

Sochi Airport's base carrier continues to improve its flight performance indicators. In 2024, Nordwind operated flights from the resort capital to 27 destinations, and this year its programme will cover 29 cities with two new regional routes added – to Volgograd and Orsk. The flights will run on comfortable 110-seater Embraer 190 jets jointly with Ikar Airlines.

Volgograd – Sochi
From 7 April, twice a week
Time en-route: 2 hours 30 minutes

Orsk – Sochi
From 8 April, twice a week
Time en-route: 3 hours 5 minutes

In addition, Nordwind continues to add more routes using its wide-body fleet - the mix of different aircraft types makes the carrier flexible in responding to changes in demand for routes.

In 2025, the airline will introduce flights from Omsk to Sochi on wide-body aircraft with a capacity of 293 to 365 seats.

“This year we plan to offer a programme of flights from Kazan International Airport to 29 destinations, but the main focus will be on strengthening year-round routes and expanding the flight network beyond the traditional flights to million-strong cities. According to the forecast, Nordwind will carry more than 1,800,000 passengers from Sochi Airport by the end of 2025,” comments Anton Mattis, Deputy CEO of Nordwind Airlines.
