India will receive the fourth battalion set of Russian S-400 air defense systems by the end of the year, the India Today TV channel reported quoting Indian Defense Ministry sources.
Each S-400 battalion set comprises 16 hardware units, including launchers, radars, control centers and support vehicles. The Russian systems play a key role in the defense of Indian strategic facilities, the sources said.
The contract with Russia envisages the delivery of five S-400 sets. The contract worth $5.43 billion was signed during a visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India in October 2018.
