Passenger traffic of Russian airlines to fall to 109 mln people in 2025

Russia’s Transport Ministry and the Federal Agency for Air Transport (Rosaviatsiya) expects local air carriers’ passenger traffic to slip by 1.8% in 2025 to 109.7 mln people, head of the agency Dmitry Yadrov said.

"This year’s target for Rosaviatsiya and the Transport Ministry is around 109.7 mln passengers," he said.

The plan is to carry 83.3 mln people in the domestic segment, and 26.4 mln people in the international segment, Yadrov added.

Passenger traffic of Russian airlines grew by 6% in 2024 compared with 2023 to 111.7 mln passengers. In the domestic segment, 84.7 mln people were carried in the reporting period, which is almost 2% higher than in 2023, while in the international segment, 27 mln people were carried, up by 20.1%.
