The Kremlin does not comment on the Kazakh Transport Ministry's preliminary report on the investigation into the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plane, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"This is a preliminary report. Of course, our relevant agencies will study it with great attention. However, the Russian presidential administration considers it impossible to comment on this issue," Peskov said.

The Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer 190, en route from Baku to Grozny, crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan, on December 25, 2024. The plane carried 67 people, including 62 passengers, mainly citizens of Azerbaijan, as well as nationals of Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, and five crew members. The investigation into the causes of the crash is being conducted by the Kazakh authorities, who earlier said they had given the Russian and Azerbaijani sides access to the investigation materials.
