Rossiya (Aeroflot Group) is introducing a new civil aviation flight schedule between the two capitals. The passenger service links Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo and Pulkovo airports. The first Moscow-St. Petersburg Shuttle flights started on June 1.
Aeroflot and Rossiya will operate up to 72 flights per day on the route. During peak hours, the intervals will be 15 minutes. Up to 11,832 passengers will be able to use Rossiya flights alone between Moscow and St. Petersburg daily.
The new flight schedule will be suitable for both spontaneous trips and pre-planned business trips. The aircraft will offer two classes of service: economy and full business, with all the standards of passenger service provided by Rossiya Airlines.
The new product envisions a change in the philosophy of service for passengers traveling between the two capitals. Aeroflot Shuttle assumes a maximum reduction of traveler presence at the airport. Separate check-in desks, located as close as possible to the entrance to the terminal building, have appeared at the three airports. Passengers who have already checked in for flights online go straight to the flight security area. The airports have installed user-friendly and native navigation that guides passengers from the entrance to the gate.
Shuttle travelers have priority queuing in the security area. Movement through the airport terminals is arranged to ensure a minimum time spent there. The departure gates are among the closest. Check-in for these flights ends 30 minutes before departure. This is sufficient time for passengers to comfortably and promptly pass through security and fly to their destination.
The main feature of the program is the possibility of free ticket changes within the fare to take another flight up to 12 hours before or after the original time. The updating of the reservation system will allow even those passengers who arrived at the airport in advance and have gone through all pre-flight checks to be transferred to the next available flight.
In honor of the start of frequent flights between Moscow and St. Petersburg, Rossiya Airlines together with St. Peterburg’s Vnukovo, the only domestic airport with its own metro station, has prepared a special gift for passengers on a number of flights: a travel card for one free ride on Moscow public transportation.
