Aeroflot has switched to domestic CAE Fidesys engineering analysis software

Aeroflot has switched to the innovative domestic CAE Fidesys software for strength analysis and engineering justification of design solutions being developed in terms of repairs and modifications of domestic and foreign production aircraft. The project was implemented by Borlas AFS (Borlas Group).

The new CAE Fidesys information system will be used in the development of operational and design documentation within the framework of the FAR-21J aviation technology developer certificate. Aeroflot's design engineers were able to perform technically complex calculations using mathematical modeling for the design solutions being developed without having to use similar software from developers from unfriendly countries. Thanks to the Russian IT product, Aeroflot's design engineers will be able to speed up the process of developing and releasing operational and design documentation by replacing some of the expensive laboratory and bench tests with modeling and engineering analysis.

The capabilities of CAE Fidesys are in many ways superior to their foreign counterparts. For example, this software allows you to work with the detailed geometry of the model (i.e. without simplifications and idealization of geometry), providing the most accurate calculation result. CAE Fidesys also implements functionality for calculating parts and assembly units made of polymer composite materials and for parts manufactured using additive technologies.

Within a few months, the Borlas team implemented and configured the CAE Fidesys software, developed a package of technical documentation, and trained employees of the Aeroflot design center to work with the system. CAE Fidesys has a user-friendly interface and a well-thought-out logic of working in the system. Combined with Borlas's adapted training programs, this allowed users to quickly master the new product.
