Series production of MC-21 passenger jets may begin in 2025-2026, CEO of Rostec state corporation Sergey Chemezov told reporters.
"Not until the year-end," the chief executive said. "Yes, most probably [in 2025 - TASS] or maybe even in 2026," he noted.
Tests of the airplane continue and the aircraft safety is first and foremost, Chemezov said. "We need to complete all the tests," he added.
Earlier reports said that series production of the MC-21 airplane may start in 2024.
