Certification of the domestic aircraft MC-21 with Russian PD-14 engines should be completed by the end of 2024, after which deliveries of the airliner will begin, said Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov. This is reported by TASS.

"Probably, of the most difficult moments, which I would pay attention to, the issues related to the testing of the PD-8 engine. Because PD-14 we have already worked off as part of the aircraft. And it (PD-14 - TASS note) has received all the necessary confirmations for the subsequent certification of all the units to be replaced on the MC-21 aircraft. Therefore, by the end of this year, I will carefully say that we should reach the final stage of certification, and after receiving the MC-21 certificate we will start shipping," Manturov told Izvestia newspaper.

Rostec earlier reported that the first serial delivery of six MC-21 airplanes equipped with PD-14 engines is scheduled to begin in 2024.

The basic turbofan engine PD-14 is created in a wide cooperation of UDC enterprises with the use of the latest technologies and materials, including composite ones.
