Winners of the first Pulkovo Awards announced

Northern Capital Gateway recognized the best airlines and tour operators. The companies received awards for their contribution to increasing passenger traffic, developing new destinations, transfer air transportation and tourism. Leonid Sergeev, CEO of Northern Capital Gateway, greeted the guests from the stage and thanked the partners for the results achieved this year. The awards were presented by Evgeny Pankevich, Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development of St. Petersburg, Aleksey Lvov, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Transport of St. Petersburg, and Asiyat Khalvashi, Director of Aviation Commerce at Northern Capital Gateway.

At the first Pulkovo Awards ceremony, winners of 16 nominations were announced.

 

Best Innovative Product - Aeroflot and Rossiya Airlines

On June 1, 2024, the Aeroflot Shuttle program was launched, which provides flexible flight planning and allows passengers to exchange tickets within a 12-hour range. Aircraft fly at intervals of 15 minutes from Pulkovo to Sheremetyevo and 30 minutes to Vnukovo. Over the past six months, 2 million passengers have flown under the program.

 

Best Airline for Passenger Flow Development – ​​Turkish Airlines

In 2024, the carrier served over 750 thousand passengers (+18% compared to 2023) and operated flights to Istanbul, Antalya, Bodrum and Dalaman. It is the leader in terms of transportation volume among foreign airlines.

 

High contribution to the development of passenger traffic in the CIS segment – ​​Belavia

In 2024, the airline carried 215 thousand passengers, exceeding the 2023 figure by 14%. Belavia launched flights to Gomel, where direct flights from St. Petersburg were opened for the first time.

 

High contribution to the development of passenger traffic – Utair and Nordwind Airlines

Utair operates flights within Russia and abroad. The volume of traffic at Pulkovo shows a 13% increase by 2023.

In 2024, Nordwind Airlines served more than 1.2 million passengers. It is the only Russian airline that operates flights to Tehran (Iran) from Pulkovo Airport.

 

High contribution to the development of transfer transportation - Pobeda Airlines, Ural Airlines, S7 Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, flydubai, Air Serbia

Russian airlines are successfully developing domestic transportation. Pobeda operates flights from St. Petersburg to 23 regional destinations, providing the opportunity to reach the largest cities of Russia with a transfer in Pulkovo. Ural Airlines connects St. Petersburg and the Far East, operating flights to Khabarovsk via Yekaterinburg.

 

S7 Airlines operates flights to St. Petersburg from Novosibirsk and Irkutsk, allowing residents of Siberian cities to discover Russian and foreign destinations.

 

Thanks to Pulkovo Airport's international hubs, you can continue your travels around the world. Pegasus Airlines flies to Istanbul and Antalya, flydubai to Dubai, and Air Serbia to Belgrade.

In 2024, the tour operator launched a flight program to St. Petersburg from 8 regions of Russia: Yekaterinburg, Samara, Ufa, Kazan, Perm, Omsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Novosibirsk.

 

High contribution to tourism projects - tour operator "Intourist"

The tour operator acted as a partner of Pulkovo within the framework of projects on development of inbound tourism. Visits to St. Petersburg of journalists and bloggers from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, India, Turkey and the UAE were organized.

 

High contribution to the development of outbound tourism - tour operators Pegas Touristik, FUN&SUN, ANEX Tour, Coral Travel

 

In cooperation with Pegas Touristik, FUN&SUN, ANEX Tour and Coral Travel, tours from Pulkovo Airport to popular foreign destinations have been created.

Feedback from Smartavia and Emirates airlines has enabled changes to be implemented at Pulkovo aimed at improving the quality of airport service for airlines.

In 2024, the growth in traffic volume on the airline's flights amounted to 32%. The carrier launched flights to Namangan, Karshi and Fergana.

 

The most successful route is China Eastern Airlines

In 2024, flights to Shanghai became daily for the first time. Passenger traffic on this route increased more than 5 times. Thanks to convenient connections in Shanghai, passengers can continue their journey across China and Southeast Asia.

 

The fastest growing airline in the CIS – Azerbaijan Airlines and Qanot Sharq

Passenger traffic on Azerbaijan Airlines flights increased by 21%. Qanot Sharq airline expanded its flight program by more than 2.5 times.

 

Most successful new destination – Etihad Airways

In 2024, the St. Petersburg - Abu Dhabi flight celebrated one year. During this time, 64 thousand passengers used the route.

 

The most developing Russian airlines are Azimuth and Red Wings

The carriers operate flights within Russia and to neighboring countries and demonstrate significant growth in the volume of transportation. Passenger traffic on Azimuth Airlines flights has increased threefold, Red Wings – twofold.

Public transport helps to get to the airport and the city. Buses No. 39, 39E and 82E connect Pulkovo with metro stations (Moskovskaya, Pr. Veteranov). In the arrivals area there is an interactive pylon where you can get acquainted with city routes, and a kiosk selling travel tickets is open at the airport.

 

 

The Pulkovo Awards brought together representatives of the aviation industry, tour operators, government bodies and partners of Pulkovo Airport. About 200 people attended the ceremony.
