Russia and Pakistan can establish the direct air service between Moscow and Islamabad shortly, Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilyov told reporters after the meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation of Russia and Pakistan.

"We discussed the issue of air connectivity and want to set flights to Islamabad in the near time," the minister said.

The parties are holding consultations in the air transport sphere and are going to increase the frequency of flights and broaden their geography, Russian Deputy Minister of Transport Sergey Zverev added. "We will be sincerely happy, on the one part, to open direct flights between our capital cities and expand their geography," the official said.
