Northern Capital Gateway, the operator of Pulkovo Airport, has launched a new training program for security inspectors. It includes theoretical and practical parts with a shadow image analysis module. The training program was developed by specialists from the Aviation Security Directorate.

The modules with the theoretical part are placed on the internal corporate portal. The shadow image database is regularly updated with new cases, thanks to the exchange between airports, which allows employees to constantly maintain a high level of knowledge.

The personnel training program includes working through situations in such categories of transport security as inspection and profiling. Testing involves analyzing up to 100 images from a database that is constantly being improved. Several difficulty levels are provided. As part of the basic training, you need to find a prohibited item, the advanced level of difficulty involves not only selecting an object in a shadow image, but also writing comments with detailed characteristics of the found item. Employees take the test until they achieve a 100% result.

Based on successful testing results, as well as high scores on criteria such as: identification of prohibited items, culture and politeness, gratitude and complaints, individual employee ratings are formed, which allow for the formation of shift ratings. The best results are taken into account within the framework of the motivational program.
