The Pulkovo – Abu Dhabi route turns 1 year old

Northern Capital Gateway (operator of Pulkovo Airport) celebrated 1 year since the launch of Etihad Airways flights. The UAE national carrier connected St. Petersburg and Abu Dhabi with a direct route.

A surprise awaited passengers in the check-in hall – dance numbers performed by a ballet dancer, a celebratory cake that was ceremoniously cut by the airline crew and airport representatives, treats for passengers as a symbol of oriental hospitality. Everyone could take part in a quiz and win a prize, as well as take a memorable photo.

"Thanks to our cooperation with Etihad Airways, for the first time in history, a flight to Abu Dhabi from Pulkovo has been launched. The airline occupies a leading position in the world in terms of service quality. And its extensive route network allows you to continue your journey to cities in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and other parts of the world with just one transfer in Abu Dhabi, making an even greater number of destinations available to passengers," noted Asiyat Khalvashi, Director of Aviation Commerce at Northern Capital Gateway (the operator of Pulkovo Airport).

During 1 year of cooperation with Pulkovo, Etihad Airways carried over 59 thousand passengers.

Etihad Airways operates three flights a week from St. Petersburg to Abu Dhabi on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Based on passenger feedback, the airline changed the departure time in the autumn-winter schedule from night to morning. Departure from Pulkovo is scheduled at 11:50, arrival in Abu Dhabi at 19:10. Travel time is 6 hours 20 minutes. All times are local for each airport. Flights are operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
