Over 1 million passengers on flights to Turkey and more than 3 times growth in Chinese destinations: results of 9 months of 2024 at Pulkovo

Pulkovo Airport served 16.2 million passengers in the first 9 months of 2024: 13 million on domestic flights and 3.2 million on international flights.

The most popular Russian destinations are Moscow, Kaliningrad, Sochi, Yekaterinburg and Kazan, and the most popular foreign destinations are Antalya, Istanbul, Minsk, Dubai and Tashkent.

The greatest growth is demonstrated by international routes, mainly Turkey, the CIS countries, the Middle East and China. In particular, in the first 9 months of 2024, passenger traffic to Turkey amounted to 1.1 million people, which is 16% more than in the same period of 2023, to Uzbekistan - 417 thousand (+24%), to Belarus - 265 thousand (+18%), to the UAE - 247 thousand (+21%), to China - 176 thousand (+224%).

The leaders in terms of transportation volume are the airlines Rossiya, Pobeda and Smartavia.

Northern Capital Gateway, the operator of Pulkovo Airport, is actively working with priority foreign markets to develop inbound tourism. Programs are being implemented to open direct flights and increase frequencies with the Persian Gulf countries and China. To popularize St. Petersburg as a tourist destination, visits of journalists and bloggers from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, India, Turkey and the UAE were organized in 2024. The result was a significant increase in traffic on international routes.
