Roman Gusarov: Russia is a member of the elite club of world manufacturers of civil aircraft
Aviation expert Roman Gusarov called the creation of the Superjet NEW (SSJ-NEW) aircraft in Russia a significant event for the country's civil aviation. This is what Izvestia writes about.
According to the expert, SSJ-NEW is "the Superjet 100 already familiar to everyone, only its import—substituted version, the second-generation Superjet." The characteristics of the new model will be better than the previous version.
"This is a very significant event for our civil aviation, because we will get a completely domestic aircraft that does not depend on foreign suppliers and political decisions. And for the industry, this is a new technological step. Today, Russia is part of the elite club of world manufacturers of civil aircraft, and there are very few of them, literally a few. There are more nuclear powers than countries that are able to create and produce civil aircraft," Gusarov stressed.
He also added that the changes that will be made to the SSJ-NEW compared to its predecessor will not be very noticeable to passengers, but for aviation it will be significant changes.
Earlier in the day, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov said that the first flight of the SSJ-NEW will take place in the near future, before the end of the year he will receive a type certificate designed to determine the standard of the standard design of the aircraft. The Minister also added that deliveries of the customer's airliners will begin after receiving the certificate. First of all, Aeroflot will receive the planes.
Earlier, on June 6, the UAC reported that the first flight of the SSJ-NEW aircraft will take place in the next few weeks after the equipment of the liner will be checked on the ground. For the first time, SSJ-NEW will be launched on French-Russian SaM146 engines, while the corporation sought to replace all imported parts, so the second flight will take place on domestic PD-8 engines.
The Superjet NEW is a fully import—substituted version of the Superjet 100 (SSJ-100) aircraft. It has replaced about 40 foreign systems and components.
