Rostec said that Superjet flies no worse than Boeing and Airbus

The average flight time of SSJ aircraft used by the Red Wings airline controlled by the United Aircraft Corporation (part of Rostec) was about 300-370 hours per month, said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec. This is reported by TASS.

"The average Superjet flight time in Red Wings in the summer and autumn of last year reached 370 hours per month. In winter, a little less - about 300 hours, but this is also a good figure. The plan for the summer of 2023 is 350-370 hours per month. That's a lot. That is, in good hands, Superjet work like real workhorses and demonstrate excellent flight performance. This suggests that domestic aircraft can fly no worse than Boeing and Airbus," Artyakov said.

In 2019, the Vedomosti newspaper, with reference to the closed data of the Federal Air Transport Agency, noted that the most popular models - medium-haul Airbus 320 and Boeing 737-800 flew an average of 10 and 11 hours a day, respectively. According to Vedomosti, for 2019, the flight time, for example, for S7 on Embraer E-170 was about six hours a day (now the company does not use these aircraft), for Pegas Fly on Embraer E-190 - about 10 hours a day.

The flight of an aircraft per day is one of the main economic indicators of aircraft. The amount of time spent in the air depends on the income that the carrier receives from a particular aircraft (the more the aircraft flies, the faster its repair is carried out due to the prompt delivery of components and parts - the more the car is considered profitable for the carrier).
