Russia is holding talks about upgrading Il-76 heavy transport airplanes with Indian private companies, Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheev told TASS in an interview on the sidelines of the Aero India 2023 international air show.

"The Il-76 is a reliable and efficient aircraft used globally, even in India. We are holding consultations with Indian private businesses on upgrading these airplanes," Mikheev said. This issue will be discussed during the air show with [our] Indian partners as well, he added.
