An Ilyushin-76 airplane, which developed a navigation system failure in flight, has landed safely at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport, the aviation authorities have told TASS.

"The aircraft landed normally. There were no casualties," the source said.

The plane arrived from Novosibirsk. It landed at about 5:45 p.m. Moscow time (2:00 p.m. GMT).

The emergency services were on guard.
