Aeroflot held two-day seminar for Conviasa employees focusing on demonstration Leonardo PSS functional opportunities for airline production and commercial activities. The Venezuelan delegation has visited Aeroflot headquarter and base Sheremetyevo airport on October 16 and 17, 2023.

Airline demonstrated the work process of domestic automated information passenger reservation system Leonardo PSS (Passengers Service System), to which Aeroflot had switched in November 2022.

Conviasa employees got acquainted with basic functioning principles of software components, including inventory system for storing and airline resource managing, reservation system for tickets booking, E-Commerce and additional services. At the airport, Venezuelan colleagues were shown how the automated passenger and baggage check-in system works.

«We are glad to welcome Venezuelan colleagues and share practical experience of launching and operation Leonardo PSS» — noted CIO Anton Matskevich — The first year of operation has shown that the domestic booking system has the necessary functionality that ensures the production and commercial processes of Russia's largest air carrier»."

It should be reminded that in June 2023 Aeroflot and Conviasa signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) of cooperation expansion across the international services between Russia and countries of the Caribbean Region. Venezuelan carrier transition to Russian Leonardo PSS will allow the implementation of the "codeshare/free sale" agreement, which involves the joint operation of flights. Airline flights will be operated under a common code, and passengers will be able to use the bonus programs of both companies. It is expected that Conviasa will switch to the Leonardo PSS in early 2024.

Aeroflot has become one of the first Russian air carriers to successfully import-replace the booking system after the introduction of sanctions.
