No one was hurt in the reported incident involving a helicopter in Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport on Friday afternoon, Yelena Krylova, a spokesperson for the Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, told TASS.

According to previous reports, a helicopter belonging to Rossiya - Special Flight Squadron, sustained damage upon taking off at the Moscow Vnukovo International Airport.

"The helicopter was about to take off and possibly due to a strong side-wind the aircraft spun around, damaging one of its rotors," she said, adding that no one was hurt in the reported incident.

Krylova reiterated that the damage to the aircraft happened during "its take-off."

"The helicopter sustained minor damage and an investigation [into the incident] is underway," she added.

A source in the emergencies service told TASS earlier that pilot error and weather conditions were among the likely causes of the helicopter incident at the Moscow airport.

"A piloting error and a sudden gust of wind are viewed to be the possible cause of the incident," the source said.
