Russia hopes that the direct air service with Georgia will resume soon, Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference on Russian diplomacy in 2022 on Wednesday.

"Hopefully we will resume direct air service [with Georgia] soon," he said.

"I am happy that the contacts between our peoples are actively developing," the minister said, adding that "last year Georgia’s GDP grew by 10% largely due to tourism and the relations with Russia."
