The total number of passengers Rossiya Airlines transported through base airports from May to August 2022 was over 3.4 million, of which more than 360,000 used flights via the newly opened regional hubs of Aeroflot Group in Sochi and Krasnoyarsk.

The transport accessibility of the regions provided by Rossiya’s extensive route network unlocks the potential of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The flights contribute to economic development, solution of important social issues, and the strengthening of business ties, as well as opening up new opportunities for tourists. The dynamics of launching the airline’s new routes meets the growing demand of passengers.

Of the carrier’s base airports, Sochi airport was the most popular destination for Russian travelers. More than 388,000 people took flights to the south of the country. The most popular routes from Sochi were Istanbul and Antalya (Turkey) and Yerevan (Armenia). Holidaymakers from different regions of the country used the transit opportunity and went abroad with the airline’s flights from the south of Russia. Rossiya flies to seven international destinations from the southern air hub.

From Krasnoyarsk, the most popular destinations are Sochi, Irkutsk, and Blagoveshchensk. Rossiya continues to develop its flight map from the Siberian transport hub, opening up new inter-regional and foreign destinations. The airline’s flights currently connect Krasnoyarsk airport with 13 Russian cities and three foreign countries. Rossiya has a traditionally extensive route network from St. Petersburg. Between May and August 2022, the most popular destinations from Pulkovo Airport were Moscow, Sochi, and Kaliningrad. More than 327,000 passengers took flights between the northern capital and Moscow. Sochi, Magadan and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk have become popular routes from Moscow.

Russia’s new regional air hubs began operations in time for the high season, opening in Sochi in April, and Krasnoyarsk in June 2022. They were opened in order to actively expand the route network to both domestic and international destinations. Passengers can purchase a universal ticket for both Rossiya, as well as all carriers in the Aeroflot Group.
