Aeroflot and Rostec to develop new digital solutions for the airline industry

PJSC Aeroflot and State Corporation Rostec will jointly develop and introduce domestic digital products and services in the Russian air transport industry. The agreement on strategic partnership was signed by the Parties on the sidelines of the XXVth Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum. 

The agreement specifies the intention of both companies to join efforts and capacities concentrating them around the development of advanced domestic digital services and products in civil aviation’s IT sector. 

The key vector of cooperation will be the launch of projects aimed at digitalization of air travel industry in accordance with the requirements stipulated in the Russian government decree No. 955 dated 24 July 2019 “On requirements to the automated information system of air transportation processing, to its databases, information and telecom network behind the said automated information system, to its operator as well as measures to protect the information stored in the system, and its functioning order.” 

A number of Russian airlines successfully completed adaptation and introduced in operations digital products based on Rostec  R&D. The automated information system has been integrated in airline operations with the participation of Rostec’s “RT-Project Technologies” in partnership with “Sirena Travel” and “RT-Transcom”. 

CEO of Rostec State Corporation Sergey Chemezov said: “More than 50 airlines with a total annual passenger traffic in excess of 40 million passengers use our automated system. In early June, Pobeda Airlines became another user of our “Leonardo” system, work is underway to introduce our IT solution in other Russian carriers. It is important to outline that the system is being upgraded to cater to individual requirements of each carrier. It guarantees a high level of information security and ensures seamless functioning of Russia’s air transport industry.” 

CEO of PJSC Aeroflot Sergey Alexandrovsky said: “Aeroflot keeps introducing Russian IT solutions in all aspects of operations. Digitalization of the company based on state-of-the-art domestically produced software is a strategic goal of attaining technological independence and security of the critical information infrastructure of the largest Russian air carrier.”
