To celebrate the 77th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic war Aeroflot launches a traditional campaign running May 3 through 12, 2022 to offer free air travel to veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
Great Patriotic War veterans, those disabled of the war and those held prisoner of war as children residing in Russia, CIS, or being citizens of these countries, are eligible to receive free economy-class tickets for themselves and one accompanying passenger. Taxes and other fees will be paid by Aeroflot. Free service class upgrade will be offered to all participants of the campaign when seats are available.
During the campaign, free travel is available on Aeroflot flights as well as JSC Rossiya Airlines and JSC Aurora Airlines flights operated under SU code across the operational network of routes to points in Russia and CIS.
Bookings can be made from April 21 to May 12, 2022 (inclusive) for travel starting May 3 through 12 May, 2022 (inclusive). Tickets issued as part of the campaign are valid one month.
In 2001, Aeroflot was the first Russian carrier to start granting free travel to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, thus, establishing a tradition. More than 96,000 people took part in the special transportation campaign over the years.
