A fully import-substituted version of the SSJ-100 aircraft with a Russian PD-8 engine will appear at the end of 2023, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said on Thursday.
"Once the import substitution program is completed, it will be possible to launch a fully import-substituted version. For the Superjet, this will happen at the end of next year, when we have a 100-percent Russian-made PD-8 engine and all 27 imported systems are replaced," he said in an interview with Soloviev.Live TV channel.
"If we receive new versions of the Superjet at the end of next year, then for the MC-21 it will be the end of 2024," he added.
The minister noted that right now Russian enterprises will manufacture fuselages and units that are already Russian-made and will gradually replace each of the foreign systems on board the aircraft.
Rostec plans to start manufacturing 20 import-substituted SSJ-100 planes per year in 2024, its CEO Sergey Chemezov said earlier. The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) plans that the first flight of the SSJ-100 aircraft with the Russian PD-8 engine will take place in early 2023, UAC General Director Yury Slyusar said earlier. According to him, SSJ-100 production plans seek to turn out 20-30 aircraft per year, the company is technologically capable of producing up to 40 such planes, including those with Russian components, depending on the needs of the market.
