Sanctions against Russia in the aviation sphere inflict damage to the ones introducing them, President Vladimir Putin said on Saturday.

"It does not depend on us alone. It depends on those doing this, doing to their prejudice. And I believe they are not fond of doing that. They perform so under the political pressure of their authorities," the President said.

In particular, foreign airlines will have to increase the time en route, jet fuel consumed, the airfare and so on when the ‘Siberian route’ is closed. "This area will also change as the situation is changing in general," Putin added.
