There is an opportunity to scale up production of Tu-214 and Il-96 airplanes in Russia, Minister Denis Manturov told reporters on Tuesday.

"There is an opportunity of increasing production volumes," Manturov said. "Airplanes currently produced at the Kazan Aviation Plant [Tu-214] are mainly supplied to the state aviation. We will keep the format of supplies to our main customers but are also considering an option of increasing the production rate from three airplanes per year at present to ten airplanes," the Minister said.

Production of the long-range Il-96-400M aircraft will start since 2024 at the Voronezh Aviation Plant, Manturov added.
