The crews of Su-30SM heavy multipurpose fighters of the aviation regiment of the Western Military District (WMD) intercepted a mock enemy reconnaissance aircraft flying towards strategically important objects in the North-West of Russia.

Having occupied the indicated search area, the fighter crews found the target and practiced actions to force mock enemy aircraft to land on the airfield.

Su-30SM fighter is equipped with a modern control system, the target detection range reaches 140 km, the combat radius of action is 1.5 thousand km. The aircraft is capable of simultaneously tracking up to 15 air targets, selecting priority ones and firing at 4 of them.
