Direct flights from Moscow to Bali expected soon, says envoy in Moscow

Direct flights from Moscow to Bali, which were put on hold due to the pandemic, may be resumed soon after a number of issues with air carriers are solved, Indonesia’s ambassador to Russia Jose Tavares said in an interview with TASS.

Previously there were direct flights from Moscow to Bali by Aeroflot and Rossiya, which were stopped because of the coronavirus pandemic, he said. "We just need another application to reactivate the flights," the diplomat noted.

"There are also Azur Air and Nordwind. Right now, Azur Air has already been given the permission to fly, but there are additional requirements for them, as I see, to open a new branch in Jakarta," he said, adding that it is in the process now, and that the company would be able to start flying once it manages to meet the requirements.

When resumed, the flights to Bali will push the number of Russian tourists travelling to Indonesia up, the envoy stated.
