Sheremetyevo International Airport and Smartavia Airlines signed today an agreement on interaction and cooperation and announced a promising large-scale program of flights of the airline from Sheremetyevo Airport.
The agreement was signed by the General Director of SIA JSC M.M. Vasilenko and CEO of Smartavia S.A. Savostin. The signing ceremony was attended by senior executives from both companies.
Smartavia plans to launch a promising flight program and the development of the route network from Sheremetyevo Airport, taking into account the demand for new domestic and international destinations, obtaining appropriate permits and projected economic efficiency.
The modern infrastructure, qualified personnel and production resources of Sheremetyevo airport make it possible to provide efficient operational servicing of the airline's turn flights in 30-40 minutes. The technology of ground handling of aircraft and passengers of the airline by the production services of Sheremetyevo airport provides for the accelerated or parallel execution of a number of operations, taking into account all security measures.
Mikhail Vasilenko, General Director of SIA JSC, emphasized: “Smartavia, one of the fastest growing airlines in the world, is a very important partner for us, and we count on the airline's significant contribution to the airport's passenger traffic. Thus, the airport is increasing its potential in the low-cost segment, which we consider to be very promising. In turn, Sergey Savostin, General Director of Smartavia, noted: “The beginning of our operations from the second base airport in the Moscow aviation hub is connected with the airline's ambitious plans in the low-cost air transportation market. Cooperation with Sheremetyevo Airport will give us new opportunities in expanding the route network, high-quality passenger service, meeting all requirements for efficient work in the format we have chosen - a smart low-cost airline. All this is an integral part of the airline's strategy aimed at its further development”.
