Passenger traffic at Pulkovo airport in 8 months exceeded the indicators of 2020

For the period from January 1 to August 31, 2021, Pulkovo Airport served 11.6 million passengers. This figure exceeds the passenger traffic in 2020, equal to 11 million people. At the same time, it is 12% less than in the same period in 2019.

10.4 million passengers were served on domestic flights (+ 28% over the same period in 2019). The most popular destinations in Russia are Moscow, Sochi, Kaliningrad, Simferopol, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnodar, Arkhangelsk, Kazan and Murmansk.

More than 1.2 million passengers were served on international routes, which is 76% by the same period in 2019. Amid the restrictions associated with the pandemic, the most popular international destinations were Antalya, Istanbul, Larnaca, Yerevan, Tashkent, Frankfurt am Main, Osh, Samarkand, Paphos and Chisinau.

Russia, Pobeda, Smartavia, Aeroflot and S7 Airlines became the leaders among Russian airlines in terms of the volume of traffic over the indicated period. In total, they served 8.5 million passengers at Pulkovo.

Among foreign airlines, Turkish Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways, KLM, Lufthansa and Finnair demonstrated the largest volume of traffic. These carriers carried 212 thousand passengers through Pulkovo.
