The Northern Capital Gateway company, which operates Pulkovo Airport, reports that it has served 10 million passengers since the beginning of 2021, which is 13% less compared to the same period in 2019.
As of August 11, 2021, the passenger traffic of Pulkovo Airport since the beginning of the year amounted to more than 10 million passengers on domestic and international routes. The indicator decreased by 13% compared to the same period in 2019.
At the same time, more than 9 million people (+ 27%) were served on domestic routes during the same period. Including on regional routes, airlines carried 6.3 million passengers through Pulkovo. The growth of the indicator was 60% compared to the same period in 2019.
The most popular domestic destinations are Moscow, Sochi, Kaliningrad, Simferopol, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Arkhangelsk, Kazan and Murmansk.
On international routes since the beginning of the year, about 1 million people have been served at Pulkovo airport. The decrease in passenger traffic compared to the same period in 2019 was 78%.
The most popular flights were flights to Antalya, Istanbul, Larnaca, Yerevan, Tashkent, Frankfurt am Main, Osh, Samarkand, Chisinau and Urgench.
Russia, Pobeda, Smartavia, Aeroflot, S7 Airlines became the leaders among Russian airlines in terms of the volume of traffic over the indicated period. In total, they served more than 7 million passengers at Pulkovo. Among foreign airlines, Turkish Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways, Lufthansa, LOT and KLM demonstrated the largest volume of traffic. These carriers carried 167 thousand passengers through Pulkovo.
For 7 months of 2021, Pulkovo Airport served 9.5 million passengers, which is 14% less than in January-July 2019.

This figure is comparable to the record figures of August 2019, when the airport served 19.6 million people in a year. We see tremendous interest in St. Petersburg among tourists.
