Rostec State Corporation's Radioelectronic Technologies Concern has developed an air purifier with an efficiency of over 99.9% for passenger aircraft. The installation cleans the air from all known viruses, including Covid-19, can be used both during the pre-flight preparation of the aircraft, and directly during the flight.

The installation "Tiokraft VR1000 AERO" is a new model of the line of air purifiers, which are serially produced by the Ramenskoye Instrument-Making Plant. The first presentation of the new air purification system was held at MAKS-2021.

On board an aircraft, people are in a confined space for a long time, in such conditions, air disinfection is the most effective way to ensure their safety, which minimizes the risk of spreading viruses and respiratory diseases among passengers. The minimum size of the particles that the Tiokraft air cleaner neutralizes is 10 nanometers. For comparison, the size of the virion of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which caused the COVID-19 pandemic, is from 50 to 200 nanometers.

"The new Tiokraft air cleaner for civil aircraft is a very popular and significant development. The system guarantees protection against bacteria, volatile organic compounds and viruses, and has unique performance indicators. At the same time, today this is the only disinfection technology, the effectiveness of which was confirmed by the results of tests at the 48th Central Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, showed high efficiency results. The small overall dimensions and mobility of the installation allow us to use our air purifiers in aircraft of any class. Taking into account the unique characteristics of the development and its versatility, we can talk about its high potential both in the domestic and foreign markets, "said Nikolay Kolesov, General Director of Radioelectronic Technologies Concern.
