Rossiya Airlines won an award in the fight against aviophobia

Rossiya Airlines (Aeroflot Group) received the prestigious Pavlov's Dog award established by the for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Association for achievements in the practice of cognitive-behavioral approach. Rossiya Airlines received an award in the framework of the "No Aviophobia" project.

Aviophobia is the most widespread phobia in the world, which is familiar to one in ten air passengers somehow. At the same time, one in four experiences psychological discomfort during the flight, and one in six experiences severe fear already several days before departure. Nowadays, aviophobia is a well-studied phenomenon. It is associated with thinking errors, so the most effective method for correcting it, according to the World Health Organization, is cognitive behavioral therapy.

Rossiya Airlines and the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Association have been partners for several years in a program of joint correction courses for people suffering from aviophobia. The behavior correction course was developed with the direct participation of Rossiya Airlines experts - as part of the training, meetings are held with the airline's current pilots, flight attendants, representatives of ground services, as well as practical exercises on the simulator. Students of the course receive not only all the necessary information about the causes and mechanisms of development of fear of flight, but also specific techniques and ways to cope with this unpleasant and frightening condition. The course is specially read in an accessible and understandable language and is suitable for anyone who wants to reduce the fear of flying, get rid of an illness and ultimately fall in love with air travel.

The aircraft is one of the safest modes of transport, but even airlines have their own safety ratings. In 2021, Rossiya Airlines ranked highest among domestic airlines in the top 50 of the world's safest airlines in 2021, compiled by the Jet Airliner Crash Data Evaluation Centre (JACDEC), a reputable German research centre. Such ratings confirm the reliability of Rossiya Airlines and help overcome the fear of flying. Passengers can be sure that the flight will be performed not only on schedule, but also as safe as possible, which means that the number of reasons for concern before and during the flight is noticeably reduced and aviophobia recedes.
