Roscosmos and Rostelecom will join forces in the development of digital technologies, including the modernization of telecommunication systems of the Vostochny Cosmodrome. During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Roscosmos and Russia's largest digital services and solutions provider Rostelecom signed a memorandum of cooperation and interaction.

The document was signed by Roscosmos Director General Dmitry Rogozin and Rostelecom President Mikhail Oseevsky. The parties agreed to jointly use their intellectual potential, organizational, technical and administrative resources to develop of digital products and services, and will consider the possibility of joint activities in the field of information and communication technologies.

The Memorandum defines specific areas of cooperation, in particular, the creation of a telecommunications support and communication system for the Vostochny Cosmodrome, as well as the development of an extensive telecommunications infrastructure to create a corporate environment for the exchange of information between the rocket and space industry organizations, and with federal executive authorities. In addition, it is planned to exchange analytical and statistical information, organize and jointly participate in scientific and practical conferences, forums, seminars, and other events on information and communication technologies and innovation.

‘A reliable and modern infrastructure is the basis for digitalization of the rocket and space industry, it will allow us to connect all our organizations and form a unified Roscosmos digital ecosystem. In addition, the transition to digital interplant cooperation requires high-speed secure communication channels,’ said Dmitry Rogozin.
