At the Baikonur Cosmodrome, RSC Energia specialists (part of Roscosmos) have successfully completed vacuum leak tests of the Nauka laboratory module. During the tests, which lasted about a month, the tightness of the hull, hatches and docking units was checked, as well as the functioning of the pneumatic hydraulic system and propulsion system and external hydraulic systems after their installation.
Currently, the module is in the rig, preparations are underway for the final installation of the European Robotic Arm manipulator, later the thermal system circuit filling is planned. After that, work will continue on the micrometeorite protection installation.
The Nauka module is a research module of the Russian segment of the International Space Station, developed by RSC Energia (equipment of on-board systems and scientific equipment) in cooperation with the Khrunichev Center (general design and production, both parts of Roscosmos) in order to expand the functionality of the Russian segment of the International Space Station.
