Pilots of the aviation regiment of the Eastern Military District (EMD) performed training flights on Mi-24 attack helicopters and Mi-8AMTSh transport and assault helicopters in the dark in the Transbaikal territory.

During the training flights, the crews performed search and destruction of ground targets of the mock enemy.

In addition, the crews improved piloting along a given route with the exploration of various objects, actions as part of combat units during joint maneuvering and approach to the target in accordance with the rules of instrument flight and visual orientation in the dark.

The aviation regiment, stationed in the Transbaikal territory, is part of air defence air force army of the Eastern Military District. In service are multi-purpose Mi-8AMTSh helicopters, designed to transport cargo, personnel and fire support from the air, as well as Mi-24 attack helicopters, which are used to destroy manpower, armored vehicles and enemy firing points.
