Rossiya Airlines has assigned the aircraft Superjet 100 (tail number RA-89063) the name «Gelendzhik» in honour of one of the oldest resorts on the Black Sea coast of Russia.
The liner has a two-class layout qith capacity of 87 passengers:12 in Business class and 75 in Economy class. The aircraft will operate domestic routes of Rossiya from Moscow's Sheremetyevo International Airport, thereby providing convenient connections with both its own flights and flights of the parent company Aeroflot.
Gelendzhik is located on the Black Sea coast and has the key importance as a spa and tourist centre in the south of Russia. The total length of the sandy and pebble beaches is several tens of kilometers. Gelendzhik is rich in historical, archaeological, cultural and natural attractions. It has repeatedly become a winner of federal and regional competitions as the most comfortable city and the best resort.
Gelendzhik is one of the most important resort points on the flight map for Rossiya. In summer, the airline operates daily scheduled flights from Saint Petersburg. Flights to Gelendzhik began from Moscow in the summer of 2020 in partnership with Biblio Globus tour operator. Over the past holiday season, about 250 flights were performed from Saint Petersburg and Moscow to Gelendzhik, carrying about 30 thousand passengers in total.
