Crews of Su-27 fighters to intercept intruders during drills in Kaliningrad region

In the Kaliningrad region, a tactical flight exercise began with a fighter aviation regiment of naval aviation of the Baltic Fleet. Crews of Su-27 fighters are taking part in the exercise. This reported by Russian Ministry of Defence press-service. 

Within the framework of tactical flight, fighter pilots and engineering and technical personnel will practice the preparation of equipment for takeoff, escape from the attack of a mock enemy and flight to alternate airfields.

The Su-27 crews will carry out the tasks of intercepting mock aircraft violating the borders of the Kaliningrad region, as well as launching missile launches at targets simulating cruise missiles and strategic bombers of the mock enemy.

During the land stage, the engineering and technical staff and specialists of the NBC protection will practice the standards for landing a fighter at a conventionally infected airfield. In addition, there will be training for the pilots on duty.

In total, more than 100 servicemen are taking part in the exercise and more than 10 Su-27 fighters are involved.

In addition to improving flight training, the crews of the multipurpose highly maneuverable Su-27 fighters of the Baltic Fleet are on 24-hour combat duty, guarding the air borders of the Kaliningrad region.
