The latest Voronezh-type radars will replace all the Russian existing airspace control systems, Chief of the Space Troops’ Main Center for Missile Attack Warning within Russia’s Aerospace Force Colonel Andrei Revenok said on Monday.

"In the future, new Voronezh-type radars are set to replace all the existing Dnepr, Daryal and Volga stations," the colonel said in an interview with the Defense Ministry’s Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.

Early warning radars are designated to get and provide data on missile launches and missile flight paths to warn about a strike against state and military command centers. They also provide data on space objects for space control. Voronezh radars comprise the basis of the ground-based echelon of Russia’s missile attack early warning system.
