The airline received recognition from the professional community for opening new domestic destinations in 2020.
Rossiya Airlines, which is a part of Aeroflot Group, is recognised by the organisation committee of the annual international Skyway Service Award as «The best airline — Facing the Challenges of 2020»/ This high award was honoured for the development of domestic destinations and opening of flights on new tourist routes in 2020.
The award ceremony was held within the framework of the VIII National Exhibition and Forum of Civil Aviation Infrastructure NAIS. The award is dedicated to the celebration of the Day of the Civil Aviation Worker of Russia. The award was received by the airline's Deputy CEO Andrey Ordinov.
One of Rossiya’s priority tasks is to develop the transport accessibility of the regions and increase the mobility of the country's population, which has become especially relevant during the period of coronavirus restrictions, when foreign passenger traffic has significantly decreased due to anti-epidemic measures. Thousands of Russians were able to discover Russia.
In the summer season of 2020, the airline paid special attention to the formation of an extensive regional route network and the implementation of flights to the popular resorts of the Black Sea coast — to Anapa, Simferopol and Sochi. Rossiya also continued to operate flights to social destinations, including ones at «flat fares», which are used on flights to the Far East.
Thanks to the fleet of long-haul aircraft, Rossiya together with the tourist partner Biblio-Globus, carried out direct non-stop flights from the Far East to the resorts of the Black Sea coast of the country. According to the results of the summer season of 2020, the airline and the operator became leaders in the number of passengers brought to Kaliningrad: more than 28 thousand travelers purchased a comprehensive tourist product, which included a Rossiya’s flight to this western region of the country. In autumn and winter, Rossiya and Biblio-Globus, with the support of the Committee for Tourism Development of Saint Petersburg, for the first time in the history of the Northern Capital, launched an ambitious project that allows residents of the country to get acquainted with the sights of Saint Petersburg. Flights were operated from Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Ufa, Samara and Perm.
