In 2020, the Regional Aircraft branch of Irkut Corporation (part of the UAC of Rostec State Corporation) delivered a total of 12 SuperJet 100 aircraft to Aeroflot, Azimut, Red Wings and Rossiya airlines. The press service of the corporation reports.
Red Wings began flights on SuperJet in September, and Rossiya, receiving these new aircraft for the airline in December, will begin regular flights from early January in 2021. The supplies were carried out through the leasing companies PJSC "GTLK" and LLC "PSB AVIAPROFLEASING".
"The role of the SuperJet 100 in domestic air transportation is constantly growing. The combination of capacity, range and comfort of the aircraft is optimal for regional routes. According to the Transport and Clearing House, in Russia in 2019 the SuperJet 100 accounted for over 51% of the total passenger turnover performed on all civilian regional jets. and turboprop aircraft," the press-release says.
In the outgoing 2020, in the context of a general drop in passenger traffic, intensive operation of the aircraft continued. Airlines have opened dozens of new routes on SuperJet between the country's cities, including bypassing the Moscow air hub.
"An important area of work of the Regional Aircraft branch remains the development of the after-sales support system," the corporation added.
In 2020, a structural repair shop for SuperJet 100 components was put into operation. The volume of component servicing has increased 2.5 times compared to 2019, and the list of serviced units has been increased by more than 40 items. Expanding refurbishment capabilities can help reduce airline operating costs by eliminating premature procurement of new components.
In the past year, the company's specialists have performed 30 complex forms of periodic maintenance on the aircraft of the airlines Aeroflot, Yamal, Severstal, SLO Rossiya, EMERCOM.
The Regional Aircraft Training Center trained 34 flight crews and 22 SuperJet 100 operating engineers. In 2020, flight and ground tests of new generation Russian systems continued under the SSJ NEW program.
The production center of Regional Aircraft in Komsomolsk-on-Amur has mastered a new competence: the installation of the interior of the passenger compartment. The first aircraft, completely assembled in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, joined the fleet of Azimut Airlines.
“Despite all the specifics of 2020 for the aviation industry, Regional Aircraft is increasing supplies, confirming the idea that the crisis always opens up new opportunities. These opportunities for the SuperJet program are, among other things, new routes of regional transportation, which appeared thanks to government support for increasing the mobility of the population of our country, ”said Yuri Slyusar, General Director of the United Aircraft Building Corporation.
Oleg Gulyaev, Director of the Regional Aircraft branch of Irkut Corporation PJSC, said: “The SuperJet 100 program is constantly evolving. In 2021, we will increase the volume of aircraft deliveries to airlines. We will continue to develop the after-sales service system, which in the future will become common for all new civil airliners of Russia ".
