MiG corporation has obtained patent for automatic plane control systems that enhances flight safety

The MiG corporation (an affiliate of Rostec) has obtained a patent for a non-linear correcting device for automatic plane control systems, which makes the air pilot’s job in extreme situations considerably safer, the corporation’s press service said in a news release on Tuesday. This reported by TASS.

"The patented device makes the process of flying a plane much safer and eases pressure on the pilot in the cockpit," the press service quotes MiG managing director, Andrei Gerasimchuk, as saying.

MiG corporation explained that its engineers managed to resolve the problem of oscillations the pilot may cause while flying the plane manually (pilot-induced oscillations, PIO).

"Such oscillations cause instability of the plane’s control systems and may result in emergencies. The device has already been tested and installed on MiG-29M/M2 and MiG-35 fighters," the press service said.
